Which DDM bulbs should I order?

I can't see **** at night so time for an upgrade!

I am looking at the 35 and 55w kit. I am not sure if I would need the brighter 55w? or if it would get too hot you guys tell me. I was going to order the HI/LO pack for 25 more. I am still trying to decide between the 5000K and the 6000K what do you guys think. i can not stand seeing ricer import blue light ****, but I dont thingk the 6000k wowuld be too ble I am looking for bright white on the mountain roads.

What should I order for the fogs to match?

6000K - 8000K is likely what you're seeing from your ricer "friends". OEM (Acura, BMW, Mercedes, etc) uses 4300K, so I'd stay closer to that. I'd also stay at 35W since you're already going to have a glare problem. 55W would just exaggerate the problem and **** people off more than they're already going to be.

If your fog lights are going to be used in fog, don't put HIG's in them. You don't want so much light coming out of there that you end up blinding yourself. If you must put an HIG kit into your truck, make sure to aim both the fogs and headlights lower. You will be producing glare that will **** off oncoming traffic, aiming them lower is a band-aid solution.

Oh, and for reference:

HIG = High Intensity Glare - HID Kits that are ALL illegal no matter what the manufacturer says.
HID = High Intensity Discharge - OEM setups that are the ONLY legal way to have HID's.

id go with either a 5000k or a 4300k. anything higher than that will be blue. spend the extra $25 and get the hi/low kit, its worth the extra money.

btw i dont know anyone that refers to them as HIG, whatever the crap that is. all these people say that if your bulb isnt in a projector lens that its not HID. but whatever, you shouldnt have a problem with cops either way. i dont know anyone that has ever been ticketed for HIDs. ive had mine for over a year and never had a problem with inspection or police.

As a DDM customer, I would suggest you look at other sources for a HID kit. Their products are ok, but if you receive a kit with a quality issue. Good luck getting the problem resolved.

I had 35W, 6000 K lamps. A very white beam, but the lamps themselves have too much a blue color for my taste. I'd stay with either 4300 or 5000K lamps and don't waste your time with the higher wattage.

I got mine from DDM. Got 55w for the heads and 35w for the fogs, both 5000K. Also got the Hi/Low kit. It's pure white.

Difference between stock color and 5000K color:

Before re-aiming (please re-aim!!!)

i ve had good luck with DDM customer service.

The bulbs they sent me were different temps, one was 5000k and the other was 4300k.

they sent me new bulbs within the week.

I ve had their 5000k Hi/Lo Kit for about 5 months, and its been great so far. especially for the price

I also had good customer service with DDM. Broke a plastic piece off the kit that locks into the headlights and they sent a new one for free within the next few days.

I have 55w 6k in the heads and 35w 5k in the fogs and they match perfect.

I too have had very good luck with DDM's customer service. I had one ballast that was DOA (one of their cheapest sets) and talking with them about it was a breeze, sent it back and had a new one at my door a few days later. For the price I couldn't be happier.

And like the others said, stay around 5,000k to keep from having blue lights. And just as an FYI, the 3500k from DDM is more green than yellow/amber... incase you were wondering for your fogs.

well the 55w will wash out the color more and be "overkill" in my opinion the 35w's are plenty bright enough so basically a 55w 8000k will look the same color if not whiter than a 35w 6000k....and the 55w's are never recommended for a fog light set up as they create alot of heat and have been known to melt fog light housings (seen it myself in friends f-series trucks)

What color temp did you decide on?

35w if you must, less glare to oncoming traffic and those whom you follow will be less pissed.
