Quick question. Remove rear oval.

How do you remove the oval badge on the tailgate? Its an '08. Is it bolt on or just tabs? Had no problem removing the side/rear F-150 badges with fishing line but its a pain to get behind the rear oval because its indented. Any tips?

Thanks!

bjp207 is correct. It's really good quality 3M double sided adhesive that's holding that badge in place.

Run a heat gun along the rim of the badge as you're prying... this really helps.

Lift a little at a time and work your way around the oval until you meet around mid-point.

If you're trying to re-use the badge after removal then be cautious; I've read on these boards that sometimes the badge will be warped after removal. I've had to remove mine twice with no issues.

Good luck.

Thank God it wasnt bolt on. That would have sucked!

Got it off this morning. No need to heat it up or nothing. Was just little bit tougher to get fishing line behind it with that indention. Was easy after that. Had it off in a matter of minutes. Took the truck to bro's shop and got all the residue removed and all badges delivered to painter.

Cant wait to get everything back.
