If you are going to put a cover on it, I would go with the rug. I had it in mine and loved it. I took the cover off and lined it, and have to say I kind of miss the ol cover and rug. The "lineX" is good for what I am doing though, hauling dirt and crap all over heck.

BTW, I still have the rug, and it is for sale to a good home. I have an 06 Lariat SCrew, 5.5 bed.

I got to say, I'm a spray liner kind of guy. The rugs are nice on the feet and knees though. I happen to have Rhino-Lining but a lot of folks like the line-x very well too. I think it comes down to who you know and which is closer. I've had Rhino-linning in both an open bed and with a cap and love it. Things don't slide around.

For me, it came down to two factors:
Covered bed and how often you haul dirts/oils/muck, etc.

First off, I have a BakFlip so my bed stays covered more often than not. Also, since the work on my yard was completed, I typically use my bed for hauling dry, clean stuff, like a gun safe, golf clubs, coolers, kids bikes, the occasional run to Costco, etc. Because of these two factors, I bought my BedRug from a member here for about half the price of a new one and I am so glad I did. These things look great and are pretty darn durable. There are cutouts for the hooks and everything. I love it and highly recommend one. The best thing is that its removeable so if I have to haul manure or something nasty, I just pull it out.

If you use your truck as a truck. sprayed liner. If you use it more for throwing gear in the back, shopping, or whatever get the bedrug. i have the spray lined but i bought a nice piece of **** carpet for the back when i go camping or chilling at the beach, not as nice as the bedrug, but a couple hrs time and it will serve both purposes

Three different trucks for me and every one had a Bed Rug. I have hauled gravel, dirt, sand, bark mulch, fire wood, and a$$, and all three have cleaned up as good as new. I prefer the "soft" touch if you will..
I hauled a load of split (green) wild cherry fire wood this morning and after vacuming it out I washed it with the water hose and its looks like it did the day I bought it.

My bed has Line-X. I also have a contoured rubber mat back there to prevent things from sliding around . It can be easily pulled out to clean off whatever gets on it. I have a ReTrax bed cover to keep everything out of the elements.

I prefer the spray in bed liners. They look good, nothing slides around, and they're extremely durable.

I love my Line-X. Not sure if they still send you a coupon if you ask for a free sample. They did when I got mine. http://www.linex.com/
