3" Readylift Leveling Kit

I have recently installed a 3" Ready Lift leveling kit. The install was simple and the truck looks great. Since the install I now have a strange popping or clunking noise coming from somewhere within the suspension on the passengers side. The noise happens at different yimes but seems to happen mostly when making right hand turns. I'm going to take it back to the shop that aligned it and have them redo it as the truck is pulling a little. I am also going to make sure everything is tight before I take it in. Has anyone experienced similar noises with their leveling kits?

From what I am told, if you level an F150 and dont change the upper A-arm, you will get a bind in the suspension because you cant get enough caster into the alignment. Of course, that didnt stop me from doing it either. 3" is pretty high without changing the A-arms. But I am no expert...

The 3" kit can cause some pretty severe angles on the front suspension and doesn't leave much room for error. Most agree now that the 2.5" is the max you should go. It is hard to diagnose your specific problem but obviously from the sound it is making something is off or out of place. Double checking everything is a good idea. Look for any sign of rubbing. If you can get a buddy to bounce the suspension up and down by pressing on the bumper while parked maybe you can locate exactly where it is coming from?

I've also heard that 3" is a bit too much

i havent had any problems with mine, but the upper arm is pretty close to the spring. the nuts on top of the strut or the spacer may not be tightened all the way down.

Put mine on two weeks ago and haven't had a problem yet. Bigcheif makes a good point though. check those nuts i almost forgot to tighten them, especially the back one closest to the motor.

I had that 3" Procomp coil over...lame idea. The ride on my rig went to hell. I suggest dropping coin on a full fledged lift, or scrap it.

Well there's your problem!

If you are going to do coilovers, you should spend the money on a decent kit from a good company. Even if the kit says it can do 3", most recommend no more than 2 1/2". On a coilover, more than that will compress the spring too much and make your ride crapy. No need for a lift kit, I fit 35's on mine with 2 1/4" coilovers, and it rides better than stock.

On any leveling kit, watch the ball joint on the upper A-arm. It will bind. Once you "upgrade" something, remember to "upgrade" everything else too.

A new upper A-arm will take the bind out, from someone like Total Chaos or Camburg.
