TPMS-Switched wheels to OEM 20s on my 07, TPMS?
I just switched wheels on my 07 F150 2wd STX from stock 17s to some OEM 20s supposly off of an 08 FX4, and they already have tires mounted on them and seem to possibly be the stockers 275/55/20 Pirelli Scorpions.. Well of course after a day or two of driving the TPMS light has come on.
How would I know for sure if these OEM 20s still have the original sensors in them, that would save me hella time and trouble of takin out mine from the 17s then getting new bands then having them break all tires down when today I just went and got these 20s balanced.. after being balanced the light comes on!.. Ive been searching here on the forums and heard of simply having Ford reprogram the sensors, so Im guessing if these OEM 20s still have the sensors in all them all Id have to do is swing by the Dealership and have them reprogram them for my truck and Ill be fine.. how much they charge for this? Please help me out? thanks

I would think the dealer could find out if the sensors are in the new wheels without having to break them down. Just have them reprogram them, and if by chance the new wheels don't have sensors, you always can pull your old ones out of your 17's and remount them in the 20's
07- ups have them pretty much, it didnt get on Ford vehicles until 07. Thanks for the replies, I think I may call up the dealership and find out possibly how much they will end up charging me for reprogramming them and if they can find out without breakin them down, Im assummin they still have them in them Ill call up a couple of local tire shops and find out if they can do it and how much. thanks-
This comes with the Eseries Van. It is a reprogram tool that several people have used.
it is pretty inexpensive at the FORD dealer and you can program it yourself.
Part Number is:
#8C2T-1A203-AB, "TPMS SENSOR TOOL"

When I swapped out my OEM 20's for OEM FX4 18's, I had the TPMS light come on too. Dealer charged me $20 to come out to the truck with some tool, run it around the tire to locate the TPMS sensor on each wheel (Ford mounts them directly opposite or 180 degrees from the valve stem) and turn my key on/off a couple times. Voilla, TPMS re-programmed. Took them less than 5 minutes.
The tool is around $25.00,I have 2 2008 fords and it has worked on both of them.If the wheels are 2008 they have the sensors and just need to be trained. Those are the same tires and wheels that came on my 08 Lariat.
