looking for strong brush guard
well i finally have the cash for a nice brush guard, now the question is what kind to get?
I want something very strong, and if i hit a deer, i want the brush guard to not get bent and go into the truck ruining more then it would without it.
I have roughly 600.00 to spend on a brush guard that fits my 06 XLT, keeps the two tow hooks available, and looks decent.
whats the best one i can afford?

ranch hand makes some real nice grille guards for your truck and the things are beefy. idk where you could get one in Ny but just google ranch hand bumpers and they should come up
I have a ranch hand and I love it. It is one tough brush guard and has saved me damage from semi tires flying through the air on the highway to poles in parking garages. If you google it you'll find different vendors, I think they run around $500. You get to keep your tow hooks too. There are a bunch of pics in my gallery.

Go Industries' "Rancher" grill guard is extremely strong. It's made of 1.9" fully welded steel tube construction. It has a built in step, for easy engine access. It does not require the removal of tow hooks. Check it out a Truckaddons.com. Priced about $470 less shipping.
i had just a cheap westin brush guard and hit a deer about 80, ruined the guard not the truck. took it off and 2 weeks later i hit one about 70 (dam rut) and it did $4500 worth of damage to the truck
See if you can't find a kid in a welding/mech engineering class near you. They'll make a more sturdy project, they need the money and it'll be cheap. I was checking out one a guy made for his 05 Silverado 2500. He was talking about an elk he hit with his ranchhand that destroyed it, so he made a new one. Thing looked wicked heavy though
