I picked up a used 2007 SCREW today and WOW, what a nice truck. I am a first time FORD truck owner and it has impressed me from the start.

What I want to know is how to tell if the truck was originally equipped with key
fobs from the factory. I was surprised not to get any at deliver today but of course, the salesman said it did not come with any. The truck does have the
keypad on the outside drivers door.

Any help out there? Thanks

 

It came with fobs if it has the keypad and power locks, have the dealer make you some up

 

BJP207 is right, if the truck has the keypad, then it has power door locks and should have the keyfobs too. While your at the dealer getting them to give you a keyfob that is programmed for your truck, have them hook it up to there computer and get the 5 digit code for the keypad.

 

I got some used remotes on ebay for $32 shipped and programmed them in my driveway. You dont need to take it to a dealer to program remotes. Its really simple to do yourself. I programmed two for my truck and two for my dad's '05 Focus. Neither one came with remotes from the dealers we bought them at (used car dealers)

The code for my keypad was on a card inside my owners manual case.

 

If you cannot find he 5 digit door code like PJB4X4 said check the back wall, it will be on the BCM (body control module. Do a search for it as it is a common issue (happened to me).

 

If the dealer should not agree that your truck came with the key fobs then we can list out your window sticker and see everything that is on it.

 

It should have had keyfobs if it has power locks. Maybe the previous owner traded the truck in, but kept the keyfobs, then sold them on ebay to PJB4x4.

The dealership should have given you a set, I would try to get them to replace them.

 

Thank you all for your input. I did think I was going to receive two fobs today along with the keys and was disappointed that they were not there. I did receive the "master" 5 digit code for the door and have programmed my own personal code. I will go back tomorrow and speak with the sales manager.

Needless to say, the truck is great and I am very happy with my purchase. I know this is just a small bump in the road. If I have to purchase them myself, I will go that route but we will see what the dealer is willing to do....... Again, Thanks all for your input.

 

If you have to purchase them yourself, and don't feel like getting them off ebay. I think Tasca might sell them too. It might be cheaper than dealer costs.

 

How do you list out the window sticker? Just picked up a 07 myself on monday and I'd love to have a legit sheet on it.

After the = type in your trucks vin #.

Thats how I got the window sticker for my truck.

 

IIRC Ford will supply fobs if the vehicle has power locks.

 

When I bought my truck new the new 2008 Supercrew XL next to it had power locks but not keyless entry.
