04 Tow package

How can you tell if a vehicle is equipped with a tow package or not? What should be present on a vehicle that has the tow package? I have an '04 Supercab 4x4 Lariat. If there is a tow package, can it be turned on and off? On my GMC Sierra, the tow package was able to engaged and disengaged by simply pushing a button. Just curious if the same on the F150. Is there something in the codes that can tell you?

A hitch stands out in my mind. The tow package also includes an extra transmission fluid radiator in front of the coolant system radiator on the passenger side (IIRC). It's not something that can be turned on and off, it's just there. The only thing you'll need to add is a brake controller. It should come completely wired for a 4 and 7 pin trailers. It will also have the wiring for a brake controller under the dash, you just need to plug one in.

Thanks, I have all the above on my '04. My former GMC had a hard shift pattern and disabled OD when tow package was engaged. Just seeing if same on 150.
I continue to learn from you folks.

Nah, the only thing to do is turn off the OD when towing. That's just a button press, though. Other than that, if your truck has the tow package, it's good to go.
