So as ive said b4, i have been working on the timing chains on my truck. well i finally got everything done and had a bad skip. so i checked the comperession on all the cylinders and everything was fine. I then changed all the spark plugs and still had a skip. well it shows a po345 and a po349 code. which is a cam sensor bank 2 code. well i started the truck up one more time and realized it was smoking and looked under the truck and the converter on the driverside was glowing red. Im trying to figure out if the converter is stopped up and if it could be causing all my dang problems...Does anyone have an answer?
If the convertor is glowing red, then your are dumping to much fuel and its burning in the convertor. Since yours is an 05, you probably have the bad injectors. There is a recall on them due to them sticking open.
I am 110% sure that this is your problem. When these dang injectors stick open, there is no CEL given for it. You sir indeed have at least one injector stuck open, and I would guess two if your cat was glowing red.
Did you do all this work before you found out you had a bad injector? This is covered by Ford. Search "fuel injector letter" in this forum to see what is covered. I had one stick open which broke a rod, got a new short block and an injector. I had the other 7 replaced, didn't want the gamble.
No I havnt checked it yet. We have a bunch of injectors laying around, I just want to know what pound they are so I can replace them.

Thanks for the letter...I would love to be able to do that but I have 200,000 miles on the truck. Im suprised this didnt happen before this mileage. It has been a great truck until now.
the injector could be your problem but you said you were working on your timing chain. id check the timing on the 2nd bank, the cam sounds to advanced opening the exhaust valve on the power stroke sending the combusting air/fuel into the exhaust cooking the converter. i could be wrong but i thought id throw the idea at ya
