I haven't been here long...but..

I haven't been here long...but after owning five ford trucks, I've gone over to the darkside....I just got an offer on a dodge laramie quadcab 4x4 that I couldn't refuse. The salesman took $14K off the sticker price at the drop of a hat! The ford dealership couldn't counter the offer, so I've put a down payment on the dodge and I'm picking it up in another week.
I posted a thread a while back on the pros and cons in regards to the fords & the ram trucks, and everyone's advice was appreciated, but with the hp, ride quality, and the interior of the dodge, it was going to be my first choice....the new '09 fords just don't look right for some reason.
Hopefully I won't have any issues with the dodge....all the best to everyone on the site!

I would probably do the trade as well. Every truck has their pros and cons.

Dodge would be my second choice BUT I have a feeling you will be back. I could never leave ford.

, Ford couldn't counter because they don't have to. They make trucks that sell.

hopefully it was a left over in the last body style because the new bodystyle for 09 dodges are horrible, i actually did not mind the older ones

It's actually an '09 dodge with the new body style. Looking at the '09 fords-the tailgate and lights look like crap...the dodge has a smoother style to the tailgate and lights (just my personal preference). The interior looks a helluva lot better than the ford, and that's not easy for me to admit...lol! The front of the dodge has a great look to it, in comparison to the ford, which looks about as aerodynamic as a brick.

I would not buy a Dodge truck because of tight space in their quad cab. My ford supercrew is roomy hands down compared to the dodge. Yes the dodge is fast and the F150 is slow but I will give up speed for room and comfort. I do not like how the rear doors look so small in the dodge. That is a good indication of the space back there in the 09 as well.

the dodge mega cab is bigger than fords. the seat actually recline some in the back but the cab look hideous imo. i dunno if the dodge is more areodynamic, the front end cups. dodge will alwayz be my second choice but im a ford fan

In my eyes the 09 Dodges like better than the previous years. In my eyes no Dodge looks better than an F-150 especially when it comes to the interior, where I spend most of my time.

Don't put any weight on top of your coil springs, or you'll be looking at the sky!

Just kidding, hope it's a good truck for ya.

Ford couldn't counter because they didn't have a surplus of U.S. government money to spend!

All in all, I think you will be happy with the Dodge. I have to drive my Mom's '07 Dodge Ram 1500 from time to time, and that extra power sure is fun. I haven't seen the interior on the '09 Dodge, but the '09 F150 seems to have a very nice interior and is one of the quietest vehicles I've ever driven! If the Dodge interior is better, then they have come a LONG way since the last generation.

Best of luck with the purchase, and enjoy the extra $14,000 in your pocket. That's goes a long way towards mods, repairs, fuel, insurance and other stuff associated with driving.
