How big and Which Ones
Hey still pretty new here so I got a few Questions. Ive got a 06' F-150 Ext Cab 4x4 4.6 V8. I want to go bigger tires and wheels. I really want 35x12.5x20 Cooper Discovery STT's on 20" XD Monsters Black. I have a 2.5" Leveling Kit on it now so can I fit those tires and not have a rubbing issue, If not what size is the biggest I can get. Also are those good tires or should I just back with the ST's?
Ive had them before for about 15K and they werent bad for an MT. Performed well, but i didnt think they wore the greatest, but i didnt rotate every 3K. I fit them and i didnt rub but your monsters need to be real close to factory offset. Check my gallery of my black FX4
if you run 35's get a tuner, your truck will be a turd w/ out it. i added a sct xcal to my 07 4.6 and its pretty quick now, about what it was stock, low end is hurting but my top end pulls hard so it evens out i guess.
w/ a 2.5" kit you want a wheel w/ close to stock back spacing. i think about 5.7-6" of backspacing but dont qoute me on that, search its been said here before.

You can fit a 35x12.5r20 on stock wheels with a 2.5" leveling kit. In order to use the same tire with aftermarket wheels the dimensions of the aftermarket wheel need to be very close to the stock wheel
So say I would just use my Stock Rim that I have now and went with a 35x12.5x17 with the Stock Rim, can that be done with no rubbing issues and they will fit with my 2.5" Leveling Kit?

Not really, it will put some stress on the drive train, but any larger tire combo will. This can be solved with re-gearing the axles, but it can get pricey, esp with a 4x4.
Many guys here run 35's with stock gearing, stock wheels, and have no problems at all.
If you're Ok with the rubbing at full lock, go for it! It'll definitely look sick

Ok well I noticed today that I have about a knuckle distance between my tire and my upper ball joint. I already have 285/70/17 on there and I dont think I can go much fatter, but I still wanna go bigger. So my question is a 315/70/17 just about as big as a 35/11/17? Also what you do guys think about the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac?
