What is it with these trucks and power windows?

Passenger side front regulator/switch/wtf failed 10 months ago. Dealer fixed under warranty. Driver side front regulator/switch/wtf failed 3 months ago. Dealer fixed under warranty. Now the passenger side front is acting up again, less than a year later. Its not even used very much at all. As before, it works from the driver side master, but not the passenger side. Goes down but not up.

What the frick is the deal with these parts that fail over and over on these windows? I've never seen anything this absurd on a fairly new vehicle.

I had a 98 Mustang GT for 10 years and about 100,000 miles, and never, never any issue with the power windows over the lifespan of my ownership.

What gives with the 04-08 F150 and power windows?

Im in same situation...18months ago my 05 F150 Lariat windows wouldnt roll down on any of the four doors from any switch. Dealer changes out all switches. windows work great for month and then driver side switch wont roll down any other window but drivers window sod ealer changes switch again. rear passenger windows stop going up and down so dealer changes regulators and switches. worked for about six months and now the drivers side switch wont roll the two passenger side windows....

Must be getting the window switches from the same company that manufactured the injectors for the 2005 models......

Do you leave your windows down in the rain? That can cause issues

I must have the luckiest F150 out there (knock on wood)... no major issues with my windows, motor, injectors, transmission or other parts. Although, I did have the recall notice on the brakes.

weird

on my 2006 F-150, it had 2 yrs in Seattle are with nothing but rain...1 yr in Hawaii with lots of rain daily

had 1 small issue with the drivers door main control switch. It went funky, but replaced under warranty and worked perfectly afterwards. Windows themselves always worked

I see some speaking of the whole regulator as the failure. But I can't see this being a mechanical problem with the arms that actually lift the window. This is an electrical switch failure of some kind, or the button itself. One minute its fine, and the next its not. No noise of any kind-just stops working

Mine will cut out randomly too. Sometimes you gotta deal till it fails. They go all the time I replace them at work periodically not motors tho on these tricks

Has anyone had the problem of the center pin on the front driver's side switch wearing down? (You have to take out the whole reg unit, then open that all the way to tell.)

I've tried using a few different materials in place of the plastic pin that wore down. I've done best with a small bit of a hard wood, but it's going again. Thoughts?

NOTE: Won't buy a new one. Not worth the $100 (or whatever) for a stupid little pin.

I just deleted my extensive pictures of it too . These windows are major suckage.

Regulator went, guide assembly went, switch went twice and now I have this weird pin that wears down. I should've bought a Jeep without doors !!!
