it was under warrenty... i have the 2in level no sound going straight just sound when the front wheels werent level sounded like metal on metal and the sound was worse after i washed or sprayed off the suspension.

Wow those things must be dry as a bone. Mine sounded nothing like that when they went bad. I did get the pop you described though. Easy way to tell is to jack the front end up then stick your crow bar under the tire and lift. You should easily hear it pop then.

Thanks for posting those video clips. That is exactly the sound I just started hearing on my truck yesterday. I'll be inspecting the ball joints as soon as I get a chance.

What kind of greese did you spray in for you temporary fix? Just white lithium or something special?

maybe try some pentrating oil on different parts and rocking it to see which one you spray last makes the sound dissipate? might help to narrow down the culprit anyway...just a thought..
