Arrow Can see 3rd brake light through ceiling liner. 04 FX4 SCREW

Hey guys, hope you're doing well. I happened to turn around today in the driver's seat and noticed a red spot of light coming through the headliner. Now, it's too faint for the camera to pick up, so I grabbed the closest object to point to it. If it matters, it's directly to the right of the night stick.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time,
Anthony

Easy -- Slip a piece of cardboard behind it.

when i tinted mine it shined through also went back to factory no more light. if it's not tinted maybe a small piece of dynomat would be better than cardboard.

yea i see it to. you can easily unscrew the brake light from the back and put something under it. I haven't done it yet, but it doesn't bother me too much.

So, it doesn't mean there's a big hole there that will begin taking on water?

There's a foam seal on the third brake light to prevent water from getting in the cab. Some '04s had problems with water leaks from the third brake light. I peeled the cheesy factory seal off the third brake light and put some thicker foam tape with a light coat of clear RTV sealer on mine.

I ordered a Recon 3rd brake light not too long ago. Haven't had a chance to install it yet. I'll be sure to take these precautions. Thanks guys!

I noticed that too, apparently ford put some holes in the bottom of the light, well to stop the light I just cut pieces of black electrical tape and covered the holes. End of issue. Works fine for me, YMMV.

It's not so much that I was worried about a faint spot of light, I just don't need water flowing in there.
