I have a Bilstein Leveling kit on its way for my 2004 FX4 and I want to replace the front coils and remove my spacer leveling kit at the same time I am having the Bilsteins put in. I am having trouble determining the right coils to get. OEM is fine with me. Any help determining what the right coil is would be appreciated. I found some online but they state 2004-2005 2wd/4wd front coil springs. I would not think my FX4 has the same front coils as a 2wd...Maybe I am incorrect.

 

2wd and 4x4 front springs are the same. The shocks are different.

 

The spring will physically fit, but spring diameter, coil count and the length of the coil determine the spring rate which can account for a different ride height. It's unlikely Ford uses the same spring for a regular cab 4x2 with a 4.2 vs. a super crew 4x4 with a 5.4.

 

Go to your delear and give them your VIN and they can give you the right spring...

Found out I have a code U spring and can get them from the Ford Megastore in Seattle for $45 a piece. Cheapest I could find online.
