forget finding just a motor

you need to get an entire donor truck. You'll need the motor, wiring harness, PCM, tranny, rear axle, motor mounts, driveshafts

it can be done, but you are gonna spend some time under the hood of both trucks scrounging parts, and making sure it all matches up.

even the radiator & fan assemblies are different.

I suggest you buy a wrecked truck that has a good rear axle (9.75 vs. your current 8.8) and the motor/electronics untouched

i would go up to a shop and ask them if they know anything, haven't seen anyone do one on a 04-08 yet, but if the motor mounts up to the tranny you just need your PCM repgrogrammed for the motor.

Basically it would be cheaper and easier to trade your truck in for a 5.4 based truck. The only thing orginally from your first truck would be the body and chassis.
