New guy...
Just want to introduce myself. I'll be picking up my 2005 F-150 on Wednesday. It's 4x4, but I don't plan to use it as such, mostly just want to have the option for when I'm pulling my Explorer out to the trails, to make sure I don't get stuck. I've already learned a lot about my truck from this site and hope to keep learning as I go to get the most out of my truck.

2005
5.4
4x4
Factory tow package
Electronic trailer brake controller
49,000 miles
Scored it for $15k, which I feel is a steal given that I know the owner to have maintained it impeccably. It even still smells brand new.

Wade, This one found me, actually. I was looking at dealerships two states over trying to find one I liked in my budget. Talked to a co-worker to keep an eye out in case he found something close to what I want (we go through a lot of dealerships, as we service parts washers for a living) and he was like, "Would you take it in white? If so, I'll bring one up here tomorrow for you to check out." It's exactly what I was after plus plenty of extra features... and it's $3k less than the lesser-equipped models with more mileage at the dealerships... and his father-in-law has been looking at buying a new one, so this one was up for sale. Talk about lucky timing!
Bigdog, this one won't see many (if any) mods. At least, that's the plan. I've found the minor tweaks I'll make as I go along and find it necessary, like the Edelbrock exhaust, a level lift for the front (when these tires wear down, so I can fit 33s next), and other minor things, but my Explorer project will be getting the real work.

First off welcome! Nice user name lol.
Trust me. I bought my truck with the intentions of just driving it to work and back. Then I signed up on this website. This website will make your wallet a lot thinner.

Thanks for the welcomes, guys.
I'm really into simple trucks. No fancy headlights, paint jobs, wheels, booming stereo, or any of that. I like it to look sharp, hence the possible level lift and 33s when the time comes (although these tires only have 8k on them, though, so it'll be a long time.) I like it to sound strong, hence the possible Edelbrock SDT exhaust system. I like it to function well, hence the blue oval on the grille.

I finalized the purchase last night. I love this truck already.
Such a huge difference to go from a 1994 Ranger STX with 3.0/stick to this beast. My favorite thing, of all things, is that I can roll down my rear side windows.
...and I think I lied. The rake is killing me. That level lift may come sooner than later.

I really like this truck!
I'm going to hold out a bit on the level and go for the Bilstein lift. The plan is to pay down the truck about 2-3k over the next couple months to get a head start on it. Then I'll consider the level.
As for the Explorer, it's still stock right now. The direct clutch is toast so I need to yank the transmission and have it repaired first. I have a 2" lift and some 31s for it, just want to fix the transmission before I bother with anything else. Final goal is 4" lift, 35s, and 4.88s.
