Power Tailgate Lock

Just bought and am trying to install the Pace Edwards power tailgate lock. The instructions call to tap into 2 wires in the passenger side fuse box: Pink w/ Black Stripe and Red w/ Orange Stripe. The wiring harness in there has about 40 wires. I found the pink w/ black stripe, but the red w/ orange is not there. I see no red w/ orange going into the fuse box either.
The instructions for this are somewhat vague and cover a wide range of Ford models and Years. Check it out here: http://www.pace-edwards.com/pdf/pglk370.pdf
Am I missing something with this red wire w/ orange stripe? There is a red w/ yellow stripe in the harness. Anyone installed one of these? Any help appreciated. Btw, 2004 screw. Thanks.

I recently bought a Pop 'n Lock version. According to their instructions...

Carefully remove the passenger’s side kick panel and find the wire harness with the pink w/orange wire and the pink w/black wire.

NOTE: All 4 door models (Supercab, Super Crew, Sport Trac) have the connection point in the driver’s side rear door step plate and B-pillar. The wire colors remain the same.

Hope this helps.

The wires in question also run up under the sill of the passenger side, so you can prob look through that bundle as it goes towards the back of the truck.

Thanks for that link. Your instructions call for the pink w/ black and pink w/ red. Mine call for the pink w/ black and red w/ orange. Also your instructions say all 4 door models have connection point on driver's side rear door step plate. So I've got some stuff to try when I get off work!

The instructions I posted above mention both sets of wires. Read the two separate paragraphs. Also, I should note that I have yet to install this, it's just something I remembered seeing in the instructions.

Yeah yours have instructionis for keyless entry, or without. Mine don't even specify, although it says it will work w/ keyless entry trucks. Yours don't mention the red w/ orange, which is the wire in question for me.

I'll pull the driver's side sills this evening. Looked at passenger side front last night and didn't see it.

OK found the wires by pulling the driver's side door sills. Both front and back. Thanks everyone for the input.

Just curious on what you paid for that. For mine I ordered a power lock actuator off of ebay for 5.99 and about $6 worth of hardware and wire from Lowes. Pics in my gallery

That's cool that you could piece it together that way. I don't have enough knowledge to do that...had to buy the kit. It was around $80 shipped from amazon. Pics look good.
