Intermittent Power brakes?

Has anyone noticed that the power brake assist being intermittent? My truck seems to be losing the power assist. I drove away from the dealer and barely touch the brakes and they grabbed really good, noticeably different than before. It required much less foot pressure to stop. I also noticed that my pedal didn't go in while holding the brakes on at a light. I know thats usually air in the lines but it doesn't do it all the time. I think if there was a vacuum leak it would never have the power assist plus I would have other issues. very weird. It seems to come and go. Ayone have any ideas?
TIA,
MJ

Isn't there a recall on the vaccum boost hose?? This sounds like the beginning of the problem that brought on the recall..

I haven't had mine done yet...still trying to get a good full day to do it. I heard that 4x4's take longer than 4x2's..

I'm pretty sure the vacuum line recall didn't touch any of the 2004s.

It might be the master cylinder... maybe one of your seals is leaking slightly but sometimes it seals up. This could happen with a small cut in one of the seals or a scratch in the bore.

Hard to tell for sure based on the description.

And - its not the power that is the problem. If you vacuum booster was having the issue it would be a hard pedal, not a soft one. If you have no vacuum its like stepping on a rock when you hit the pedal.
