It's not a functional scoop. It's the one that Roush puts on it's F-150's, just for looks. A friend of mine and I painted it and mounted it.

Nice work. The bug flector should go and that will look really nice. Scoop kinda completes the package of the fx2.

Hadn't even really given the bug deflector a thought. I guess I now have to remove it to see since 2 of you have mentioned it. I was mainly thinking of how it now really looks goofy without being leveled.

How difficult was the measuring and drilling of the hood for the scoop? That's what is a little daunting to me.

the scoop comes with an install "kit" that includes a huge template that covers most of the hood. you measure the center of the hood in the back and front, then match up the line drawn on the template with your hood centerline. the template is even curved at the back to follow the curve in the back of the hood. there are 4 spots marked on the template where you need to drill. after measuring the center about a thousand times and making the 4 marks on the hood and measuring those marks a thousand times, I drilled the pilot holes and then regular holes. It was actually very easy with the template. My friend is a very good body work guy and made me do the install, with him watching every step of the way and back checking my work. I had to buy him an extra beer for after for him to actually drill the holes. the thought of the drill skating across the hood wouldn't leave my head. If you have average skills with a measuring tape and drill this is the easiest part of the job and something that you can do, wathcing the skill required to get the scoop painted made me realize the average person should buy it already painted.

Thanks for the run down. I'm sure a lot of guys like me have been thinking about this mod. This makes it a little less nerve racking.
