Code 052 Idle Air Control Valve, Engine Turns off at Idle
Code 052 Idle Air Control Valve, Engine Turns off at Idle
Anybody run into this problem.
Symptoms:
1.) When in idle, if I turn on the air condition or heater, engine sounds like the rpm's go crazy and the truck jumps forward and turns off.
2.) When driving, as long as I don't stop and take my foot of the gas, the truck runs and doesn't turn off when running the air condition or heater.
3.) When I don't run the air condition or heater, the truck runs as normal.
I have a K&N Air Charger Kit. 4.6 Liter V8 Ford 05'.
Where is the idle air control valve located on the 4.6 lite engine?
Is it something that can maybe sprayed clean with some throttle body cleaner?
Or is it a solenoid problem within the valve itself?
Do I need to replace. The dealer wants to charge $250 parts and labor to fix problem. I've had the truck 4 years, been living with this problem for almost 2 years now.
Anyone can help, it would be appreciative.

It should be located on the side of your throttle body, I think it's the same as the crown vic IAC valve. This link should help you out. You can take it off and clean it and it will help for a while. I did on my 02 CV and never had a problem with it again. http://www.p71interceptor.com/repairs/iac/
