Installing Bilstein Leveling Struts....What tools are needed??

I ordered my Bilstein Leveling Struts for my 2006 F150 4x4.

Just wanted to know what tools are needed to install them and how much time am I looking at to do it if I have access to a lift? Is it pretty easy to do? I have lifted a few trucks before, mostly Superduties, so I know what I am doing. This will be my first F150 to lift though.

Also, if I can't get it aligned right away, is it ok to drive for a few days until I get it done, or will it be to bad out of alignment to do that? My tires are pretty much shot anyway, so tire wear is no big deal to me.

Thanks for the help,
Brent

Various wrenches, torque wrench, or air compressor with air tools. You will need a spring compressor to remove the spring from the old strut and install it on the new one. I know I'm missing a few but that's all I can think of right now.

You should be fine to drive a few days as long as the alignment isn't completely screwed up

Where do I get a spring compressor strong enough to compress these springs. From what I understand the rentals from the auto parts stores won't cut it

Thanks,
Brent

When I do mine, I'm just going to drop the struts off at a shop and have them swap the springs. This seems like the easiest way to do it

hey Brent, if you can't find a spare set of springs like we talked about, what if we just met up a my in laws house early saturday morning, then took the springs out and take it to the dealer or where ever have them swap it out then replace it? That way it might could even be done early enough to have it aligned same day. Just a thought

I can Saturday but it will have to be done by about 11, so we may have to start early, but it could happen
