Recommended Exhaust

What kind of exhaust should I put on 08 FX4? I want something dual, and sounds good.

If you're 18 you probably think cutting off the factory muffler and dumping your exhaust under the truck sounds good. (Pssst -- it doesn't!)

If you're 38 you probably will prefer the sound of a nice Flowmaster or MagnaFlow (my preference) cat-back system.

If you're 58 you probably don't mess with crap like this anymore and are quite pleased to hear nothing but the quiet hum of the factory exhaust as you tool down the interstate.

Roush Off Road all the way. You'll be very happy with the exhaust. I'm adding hi flow cats to mine pretty quick so I can get a little more sound

It's pretty obvious you didn't grow up in the 60s. If you're 58, it doesn't much matter what you install because your hearing is shot. You can hear drones, but you can still settle for something like a Gibson, Magnaflow or Bank's system. I'm not 58, but I'm not far off. I'm not dead yet, but no way I'd install flowmasters. I do have a Bank's monster exhaust waiting in the wings. Do your homework and listen to as many systems as you can. Ask questions and set reasonable objectives for your exhaust system. If it's louder than you want, you'll be disappointed. If it's too quiet, you can still live with it.

I went with Borla, but would not again. I'd go with flowmaster or magnaflow if had it to do over. Not that Borla does sound good, but the others sould better for less $.

I have a 4.6 with the roush off road exhaust. Great sounding and worth every pwnny. I did the install in my front yard with basic wrenches. Very nice setup and its all stainless steel.

I previously had the Flowmaster super44 and currently have the Roush Offroad and I would NEVER go back.
