How do remove the factory radio

I have a 2008 F-150 XL. I saw the thread where you remove the radio that has an ash tray, but mine doesn't have an ash tray, it has a cup holder. How do I get that front panel off to remove the factory radio?

Basically you need to stick a flat blade screw driver or something in the gap on either side of the trim panel where the red arrows are pointing to and pry the trim panel up a little without scratching it up. Once you get it started you can pull it right off.

Put the cup holders in the "cup holding" position and just pull on the trim peice with EVEN force on both sides. It will come right off. Then it is just a matter of four screws and unplugging some wires.

I consider this easier than the radio in my 92 since you dont need the push pin u bolt things.

I don't have the cup holder in the dash on my XL, so I had to pry my trim piece up a little to get it started. If all you have to do is pull the cup holder out in order to grab that trim piece that is definitely the way to go. Less chance of scratching something.
