3" pipe intake mod complete

Well I did it this afternoon and everything went great thanks to the directions from JackandJanet.

One problem I had was it was taking forever to sand the pipe down to make it fit just right. So I used a table saw to run the pipe along side of to get it down to size more quickly.

Took it for a drive and I could tell it had a bit move of get up and go when you punched the gas.

Painted the clamp and pipe gloss black and you can't even tell that it's not OEM....looks that good

Will get a picture of it tomorrow.

Looks OEM to me! Any expectations on gas mileage improvements?

I started out by using files on mine, got tired of filing part way down on both sides then thought about the table saw. I had her all set up and spinning away when I got visions of bad things happening so I stopped.
How far up the sides did you go with the flats?

I did this mod about a month ago, and while I can't be sure of the gas mileage changes, I gained about 1 mpg, however I also changed my 65000 mile old fuel filter (I didn't know any better before I joined this site) at the same time, so I don't know if the filter or the intake takes the credit.

I did that mod on my old '04 and had it on all the way up to when I traded it in. It's sitting in my garage now, on the shelf, collecting dust. I seem to remember it making the intake a little louder.
