Here's a REALLY good reason to give your truck a bath.... pics

She had freakin' JET FUEL all over herself! Long story short, I live in the flight path of the new 3rd runway at SEATAC and a plane had to dump fuel, it was an emergency, and Jet Fuel started falling from the sky not once, but twice. The plane had to turn around a second time and keep dumping fuel until he was light enough to land!!! And they kind of "missed" hitting the water. They were too low for it to have time to vaporize too. Here is a link to the story about it: http://www.komonews.com/news/local/44020502.html

Anyway, I spent a few hours at lunch today, scrubbing this jet fuel off of it and took some pics........ they turned out pretty decent. It was partly cloudy, not full sun....

I am going to have to put some wax on her VERY soon!

There are a few more in my album

Yeah, do a FULL detill on it ASAP! i work with Jet Fuel eveyday, we sometimes use it to clean parts and that stuff will eat the wax and clear coat pretty quick. get some wax on that truck quick. Nice truck BTW. Love the badges.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I think I will be ok for a little while with the wax. There was still a pretty good layer of it on there from last fall.

The weather needs to warm up a little more before I tackle that job because it takes me all weekend to detail her, when I do. Inside and out. I am just glad that I was able to get the fuel off of it!

things like this happen all the time but it usually evaporates before it hits the ground. Anyone that lives near an airport or a air force base probably has had jet fuel on their car one time or another, you just dont know it

I only belong to 2 Ford Forums, and I have friends on both. What is the harm in posting on two different sites?
So, I would have to say that the answer to this question is "no'. Not sure what you have been seeing.
