Key Pad Question

I recently purchased a 2007 Lariat SuperCrew.
The book is missing from the vehicle (as is the damn jack). The dealer gave me a book from a 2006 that seems to cover the basics including the radio and various Lariat features. My issue is that I don't have the code for the KeyPad. Can I reprogram this myself with out the factory code or will this be a dealer issue?
Thanks

Behind the rear seat is the keyless entry module, it will have a sticker on it with the code.

Or you can go to the dealer and see if they'll look it up for you. They may charge though

I recently purchased an 06 Lariat and had the same problem. In order to get to the box behind the seat you must take the entire back seat out, which from threads I have read seems to be a major PITA. The dealership is going to charge you $50. You would think that they could pull up the info using yoru VIN#........but no

The dealer can hook up a computer to it and read the factory 5 digit code or as said above, you can remove the back of the rear seat and there should be a label with the code on the body control module. This 5 digit code stays with the truck and has to be entered to enter your own 5 digit code. So, the unit can have up to 2 codes at any time. The original and one entered by you.

If you go to the dealer, they'll charge you $40+ just to hook it up and retrieve the code. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

Those keypads are the greatest invention. Once you do get your code, you'll find it to be indispensible. There are ten 2007 F-150 owner's manual sets available on eBay as of this reply from as little as $15 to $50 shipped.

If you could pull it up with the VIN, it would make it accessable to too many people. They could then unlock your vehicle.
