Where to put trailer brake in 06 FX?

I need some advice. Where can I put a trailer brake in my cab with space limited by the console? Has someone made an aftermarket that will fit into the dash somewhere? I am pulling a large slant trailer with two horses, and need to make sure I can stop.
Thanks,
RkyMtnF-150

My buddy has his controle mounted under his dash. Right about were your leg goes to the acc. That is a option, but if your like me and have long legs its would be hard.

Here are a couple pics of where I have mine mounted, although they aren't the best quality. I am 6'3" and don't have any problems with it getting in the way.

I guess I may have to mount it under as you have pictured. Your trailer brake controller looks smaller than what I had it my 98 f-150, maybe smaller controllers are available now.

If anyone else has an option to this I would love to hear about it.
Thanks,

That was the reason that I bought the controller that I did, so I could mount on an angle. The trailer dealership that we do most of our business with had 4 different brake controllers, but this was the only one that could be mounted at more than a 20-30* angle, plus they also said that this was the unit that they have had the least problems with. I think I paid right around $70 for it.

That's the best place to mount it, just like he has it. IF you need to get to it in a hurry, you want it to be where you don't even have to look to use it. No time THEN to do anything but grab it!

Could you tell me what brand the controller is? My mechanic can get anything I need.
Thanks,

Just a follow up to all posters who have chimned in on my question. My mechanic says the new electronic brake controllers can be mounted at different angles as opposed to the old hydrolic ones. Thus I can mount it right up against the dash underside. Now I'm looking for the slimmest electronic controler I can get to mount up under the dash to the left of my "flow through console". Hopefully when mounted it will clear my knees.
Best to All,
RkyMtnF-150
