Sadly this is the case, many loyal Ford owners not buying the new F150 because Ford was to stupid to release the new engines at the same time as the redesighn. You cant tell me you would have bought a Dodge if you could get the 6.2 or 5.0. Ford is still leading in sales but it would be game over for everyone else if it werent for the gutless 5.4. I love my Ford but I really dont blame you for your decision...

Hey Paralyzer! Well, if Ford had the 6.2 or 5.0 Eco out, it would have been a tougher decision than it already was. But I was, and still, not totally sold on the front bumpers, rear tail lights, and other design elements that just didn't flow for me. The Dodge, in my opinion, was a better executed design exercise especially in the areas of overall design theme, storage (Rambox, split glove boxes, in-floor storage bins/coolers, split console storage, and rear underseat storage), and of course the ultra smooth ride and hellacious Hemi. I get comments wherever I drive this thing, including from many Ford guys. Then I see some of the lifted new F150s, especially the FX4s which was my favorite package, and all of a sudden I don't have any issues as they look great when done right.

So I say all that and then I go to the Ford show room (because I still have friends at the Ford dealerships...lol) and there sits a brand new Raptor.

Totally different vehicle and makes no sense compared to a F150 Supercrew or Dodge Ram Crew, but I could not stop drooling over that machine even though it is only an extended cab, is designed more for high speed desert racing rather than slow speed rock crawling, and just does not meet my needs. But the only thing that stopped me from buying it was the fact the 6.2 isn't available yet. Good thing as my very patient, understanding wife would have exploded on me right there and then as that would have been my fourth new vehicle this year (3 of them would have been Fords).

But I got the new F150 out of my system a few weeks ago when I took my friend there to buy a new '09 two-tone (white over grey) FX4 with all the trimmings. He wanted another Chevy (had a Suburban which was actually a great vehicle for him and lasted almost 300,000 miles) but convinced him to look at the new Fords. We went for a test drive and he bought it...lol.

Good looking Dodge.
Other than the snout shape, too much chrome on the grille and maybe mirrors but I had the same issues with the new F150 too. Especially the storage boxes, the rear suspension and that motor. Good review from a Ford owner perspective.
I love all nice trucks regardless of make or model and I like the Dodge.
When I was younger I changed vehicles frequently and tried many but my first love will always be motorcycles.
Thanks for sharing the experiences.

Good luck with your new Dodge. I drove the new and improved Dodge truck and was very impressed. If I could have found a 2010 Dodge for the price I paid for my used 07 Ford SCREW, I would have probably tried the Dodge. It is a vast improvement over their old truck.

Everyone should at least go to their local Dodge dealer and take one out.... You may be surprised...... By the way, I have been a GMC owner for many years prior to my Ford.
