Idk if our trucks are different but I have 3 outlets. One for the cig, one on the right hand side dash and one of the center console for the rear. Sometimes if i plug something into the one on the right of the dash it wont charge/work. Idk why but if i plug it into the cig lighter it'll work, BUT other devices work in the one thats on the right. So I know its not the outlets problem. Maybe thats whats happening with yours? Just try a different device. If that doesnt work, im afraid you're gonna have to go behind the dash with a wire tester and see if they are getting power.

Most likely a blown fuse. Check the fuses in the fuse box. Its in the passenger side floorboard. You have to remove a panel or two. Check the owners manual for the number.

x3 check the fuses, use a meter to check continuity as they can be blown and you not see it.

Might sound silly but I'd say what ever you tried to plug in is bad. I've had cheap plugs that don't make good connetions with out keeping constant pressue on the plug.

My wiring diagrams show each outlet having a 20A fuse to each plug. Then all the plugs get connected to a always hot connection in the central junction box (fuse box). If you didn't have power at all 3 outlets you'd have a lot more wrong than just that.

Well, the lighter outlet works, but the manual says to avoid using that one. I've tried a few different devices and get the same result each time. It's just the right dash and the rear center console ones that are dead.

Well if you want to mess with changing them out I have a rear console one I would be willing to send you if you cover the shipping. I just got done doing a rear air delete and took that out at the same time. Pm me if interested I would still say it sounds like a fuse issue to me.

Gotta wait on a guy. It'd be best if I don't touch anything too important. I'm as dumb as dumb gets when it comes to these trucks.

Thanks, though.

Well, I checked all the fuses for a more pressing issue and the meter shows they all have continuity. So, this remains unsolved...

Suggestions?

Thank you,
Anthony

I have a 2004 XLT and the outlet on the right of the cig lighter has never worked since I got the truck, but the rear one works fine, Checked fuses and check it with a meter, no power, Dont feel like tearing the dash apart to fix it, 2 out of 3 aint bad... would be nice to fixer though.
