Question Possibe to add a sun roof?

I have an 04 FX4 SCREW and was wondering if it's possible to add the sun roof that other models have.

Thanks in advance,
Anthony

I would avoid it.

the moonroof trucks have a different sheetmetal from the non-moonroof setups

there is extra re-inforcement in the substructure and the mounting hardware is built in.

I have 0 problems with my moonroof...but I'd be worried about leaks from an aftermarket install.

i have seen many roofs too in my day, but i also have seen them put a webasto in jag, pretty slick unit. i wouldn't hesitate 1 second to put a webasto moon in. all moonroofs leak, it's all about how they are drains are vented.

on the other hand i have seen ALOT of crappy sunroof's leak, but you get what you pay for. i wanted a moon when i bought mine, then after i rolled my last lifted truck i passed up the idea

SAT(Specialty Automotive Treatments) on sunrise blvd. I got this done a while ago, since then they upgraded and bought the land next to it that faces right on Sunrise blvd and they built this REALLY nice show room, im sure you've seen it or at least seen the commercials for it. Its a nice place, I highly recommend them considering how mine NEVER leaks and its aftermarket and is GOOD quality.

The moon roof they installed comes with a small button panel that has 5 buttons on it, 3 of the buttons are preset positions for the moon roof and the other 2 are forward and back arrows allowing you a one touch to each position and you can hold them down and let go for a precise position. I'll snap a pic of it tomorrow. The other really cool thing I like about it is that it closes automatically when you turn the key off which I LOVE considering how many times i hear of people accidentally leaving it open and rain and stuff going in.

At the time, I wanted them to hook it up so that it would automatically close my rear sliding glass when the moon roof closed when you turned the truck off but they wouldn't because of warranty. If I was gonna do it again i'd have them do that anyways cause i sometimes leave that open and walk away.

BUT Anyways, great product and great place.

^^^ you can also get a rain sensor with it too, so you can leave it open but if it rains it will shut by itself.

Speed and truck world are WAY over priced same with IDEAL and that's why i purchase online and install myself but for that price(under a grand) it is well worth it but it all falls on the installer and hopefully he is having a good day.

Yeah they are but I respect them a lot. The 4wheelparts place in Pompano was right down the street from me but they just closed up 2 months ago! Aside from Speed and Truck and Ideal, theres nothing left really. The only other place is Tire Country on dixie. Thats who I got my lift and tires and rims from and installed.

Just a FYI: Tire Country beat every ones price for the lift and tires and rims installed out the door at 5300 even. Every where else wanted 54-56

I've had all my work done at Speed and Truck, they're good folks there. IDEAL's too far for me to drive each time.
