Specs For Sub Box

Hey i am looking to build a sub box to go under the back seat of my 04 Screw FX4. I was woundering if anyone has built a box for only one sub i would like to leave my jack in the cab under passanger side rear seat. So i guess im lookin for a box that fits a 10" or 12" and only takes up one side of the rear seat. If you have built a box for two subs i think you can still help buy giving the demintions of your box and would just have to change the length of it. i would still like to be able to raise my seat up also. Do i need a shallow sub or will a regular sub work?

Thanks

From the Pioneer website, click the "dimensions" link:

These are both for a shallow sub, just cut the hole for whatever brand you buy.

Search eBay and you can find custom made boxes that will look much better than that one for under the back seat, and for much cheaper.

He's asking about building one, I gave him some specs as a starting point. He can custom build from there to make it work. I used these same specs as a starting point for my box, the end product looks nothing like what I posted.

JL Audio makes a single-sub box that goes under the back-drivers side seat. It's kind of pricey, but I've heard it, and it rocks your socks.

I built one a few years ago for a single sub. Sorry don't have the dimensions though. I just pre-fabbed everything out of cardboard and used it as a template. I only built mine for an 8" sub though thinking it was all I could fit in. After I was done I realized I could have got a 10" in if I wanted. Mounting depth is something to pay attention to when looking at subs but also be sure you get one that will match the amount of box volume you will have. The lower amount of volume required the smaller the box can be.

I mocked mine up with cardboard as well. I took my jack out but it could have stayed in. I just wanted to put the amp there. I also did the washer lift to the front of the rear seat. Used a grinder inside the box to allow the magnet for my JL 10W3 to fit. Very satisfying to build it yourself. g'luck

Here's some specs and pics.

Has anyone put just one 12"? Thats my plan but im not sure if it can be done. I found a set of specs for 2 10" i guess i could just cut it in half and build it for one side or the other and cut a bigger circle.
