Thats it!!
They pissed me off! As a few of you prob remember I am pondering the idea of getting a screw. So in a last ditch effort today I drove a wee bit further into a better economic area and tried to talk some numbers.
pulled up onto Ford dealership, right next to a xlt flame blue. Before I could even get out of the truck wife starts saying "is that the F150?? OMG what did they do to it! Needless to say a 20 min conversation started on how I like the new looks and she thinks it looks like crap compared to mine. Rolled the window down asked the dude straight up 'you willing to work on a upside down trade what kinda deals are you making' He says to me the lot is in bad shape and don't have much money to work with.
Pulled into Chevy lot next, took a wee peak at a Silverado Z71 screw it was a baseline model sticker price was almost 38,G I laughed and walked away as they salesmen came flocking. Dude says hi, I say Im pondering on trading my F150 for something 4 door he starts ramping about how Chevy is better than Ford blah blah. I told him with a starting price of 38g Chevy couldn't do nothing for me.
Nissan place was next drove in and drove out lol.
Dodge place well I drove by it looked at the 09s puked in my mouth and drove off, "although off topic from certain POV's they don't look to awfull bad but OMG that front end!
Finally just pulled into the Toyota place, dude practically runs into my suv tryin to stop me. Got over by the tundras look at the price tag on a SRT-5 I think and I though hmm not a bad sticker price to start at under 34,000. I tell him alittle bit about my truck over the shoulder of the salesmen I see a F150 scab with 2 different ppl looking at it on the Toyota places lot it was used. The dude rolls off then comes back and starts throwin BS around after he realized that I wasn't going to downsize to a Tacoma or go up in $ month payments he starts in on Fords. Tells me how Ford just don't compare to a Tundra, and im not taking much away from the Tundra. I don't really like the amenities in it compared to the 09 F150. But never the less the dude starts bashing Fords like a mad man just like the Chevy guy did and the entire time im watching ppl drive up to that F150 on there lot and peal there eyes on it. Finally I told him to turn around I says " bud I ve watched 3 cars stop and look at that F150 since Ive been talking to you, how long will that sit on your lot" He said ah not long its a nice truck, then I told him that I appricate his time.
Its just funny to me that all these automakers at so much better than Ford but when your on a Ford lot I haven't ever heard a Ford salesmen bash a Honda. But damn they will bash a Ford, I understand buying a new truck in 06 things went downhill insanely for trucks and most of us are upside down if bought new. But hell I have found a new respect for my lil F150, to to heck with a screw ill stuff all the babies I can in the scab and be done with it!
Rock the hell on Ford!

I saw an old friend today that I hadn't seen in years. Last time I saw him, I was driving my '04 F150. He says "Damn, you're a Ford guy. This is nice!", referring to my '08 F250. I said I have always been, and he agrees. No reason to feel bad about loving a Ford. All Americans should buy American. Any American that doesn't drive an American car should be ashamed. I don't care if it's a foreign car built in the US. if the profits go to a foreign company, then that is money leaving our country. We have to protect American businesses by buying American. The excuse that foreign cars are built better just doesn't fly any more.

I had the same kind of issues dealing with Ford. I tried a couple dealerships and they just don't want to drop the sticker at all. I even went to the Ford dealership where I had purchased 4 Fords from, still hardly any price drop.
It amazes me that in these economic times and with all the crap you hear about these auto makers struggling that they would be willing to work some kind of deals.
Plain and simple, I hate car shopping. I've always gone with the approach mentioned above; showing up after hours so nobody bugs you.

I never had issues with chevy/gmc or ford dealers, but when a young guy walks in and they think there gonna try and screw ya, that's what pisses me off. i have had SO many encounters with that, i guess some 24 yr old guy walking in, they don't think he knows his stuff and a quick sale is in the works. WRONG! i do my homework and the best prices gets my business. i love the dealers who have the "no hassle pricing"
here's a good story. when i was the market buying my truck, i had the x-plan, so i would have gotten the same price for the same truck from whatever dealer, well rhinelander ford had the truck i wanted and i called a friend of a friend at a diff dealer across the state and they gave me the price for it and fax over the details. that dealer was gonna trade for it because i really didn't wanna deal with them again, they wanted to scrape my insides and give me practically nothing the last time i wanted to trade my truck in. so i go in there with 2 pieces of paper, 1 of them i scratched the vin off of it. i walk in and there and ask how good of deal they can give me, guy goes and gets the keys blaahh blaahh and starts talking to me like a 10 yr old and i got pissed right away. so i walk back in and ask to talk to someone who didn't start yesterday. the manager comes out and goes thru the whole routine and i ask him what's my x-plan price. he gives me the figure of like 31grand with the 1.9%, then he says lets go crunch some numbers and figure out your payments. i let it ride and go back in and he gets his nice little notepad out and starts rambling on and on. so i tell him, i need that truck line-x'd black and has to have bfg at's 265/70's on it before i am willing to buy it. bout 5 minutes later he comes out and tells me that's 1700 bucks more! i'm like huh! well the tires are 1100 and the liner is 600 bucks, that's the going rate. then he says well what can you afford, i'm like that's not an issue sir, anything under 1000 bucks is fine with me. he goes on well lets do a credit check first, i reply already done, i am approved for any f150 i want. he doesn't believe me and calls in to ford credit, sure enough, pen stroke away from driving away in a new pickup. then i say, well if you can be 32grand out the door, we got a deal. he starts to chuckle, he goes on to say "you aint gonna find that price anywhere" i reply "is that so" i lay down the paper and spin it around and i say "you wanna sell a truck today or not" he goes on to say that's not a supercrew blah blah, i get up and by then i wanna slap the guy and walk out. so i ask him again, "you wanna sell that truck or not" he counter offers me a price of 34grand and he offers to give me 200 bucks for the new tires i take off, i laugh again. i ask him how 1 ford dealer can give me the price of that truck and you guys are trying to screw me raw? he tell's me it must be a mistake, so then i ask the vin number of the truck i was looking to buy, he rattles it off. i lay down the other fax, spin it around and slide it to him. i tell him, here's my price, then i stand up and tell him, i'd wash that truck, my dealer will be picking it up tomorrow for me, he chuckles again. i start walking out and he follows me out, "we can come close" my response is, have a nice day, don't forget to wash it! i was having a field day, what a jackass!

Good one Atom and good for you.
Those dudes man they think they know everything, I love it when someone pulls up in a lot with a 88 sedan with the bumpers falling off. You don't see those dudes rushing off to greet them.
I think we had a article in the paper about a older man wanting to buy a sports car and he couldn't get no help cause he looked homeless I guess lol. He had 50G cash on em.

I hate dealing with salesmen, amazing how ignorant they think people are about car buying today. Here's my story;
Went to trade in my 06 F150 for a new 08 F250. I owed $24k at the time and said if they pay off my F150 without applying anything to the F250 loan then we have a deal. Of course that wasn't what KBB was saying trade-in value was and I know you typically get nothing for your mods, but I had almost $15k in mods and I was not going to simply give them to the dealership. This salesman was pretty funny because he was trying to make me feel like he was being a friend by saying "ok the sales manager is going to come out and throw a number at you, refuse it the first time and that way we can get you a better deal." Sales manager comes out and asks what will it take to get you to drive that F250 off my lot? I said pay off my F150 and apply nothing to the new loan. He says we'll give you $18k for your truck, I said no deal when payoff is $24k. So after some finagling the guys says ok we have a deal so off to the finance we head. Am I glad I took a good look at the paperwork because they were only giving me $18 for my F150. I told the guy nope, this isn't what we agreed upon so I don't know why I'm sitting here with you and I walked out of his office. Started walking towards my truck and out comes the salesman and sales manager asking where I was going. I said I was done because I've already wasted 2 hours and the little stunt you just pulled was not appreciated.
He asked me "do you like the F1250?" I said yep, but I also like my F150 and am perfectly happy driving it off your lot. He told me a story of how when he was 24 there was a Trans Am he really wanted and there was nothing going to stop him from driving it off the dealers lot and he knew I felt the same way about that F250. I said see that's where you're wrong, I like the F250, but not enough to pay $6k more than it's worth and give you $15 in modifications to my truck for free. He said "we'll you actually devalued your truck by adding all those modifications." I said well if that's the case why do you have a lifted F150 on your lot that's marked up another $6k? He said well we have to charge the customer for the aftermarket parts. I said well you didn't purchase my aftermarket parts and you're unwilling to give me anything for them so therefore you do not get to profit from them and I drove off their lot. Two days they were calling me up asking me to come back in to see if we could work out a deal, I said too late and I still ahve my 06 F150.

I've always had Chevy dealers talk crap, never had a problem with anyone else.
