Yellow Bilsteins vs. 5100's

Im getting new shocks soon and was wondering what the difference between the two is. I already have a leveling kit so i dont need the lift feature of the 5100's. I just want to know if the 5100's are worth the extra money if i dont need the lift settings. Any help is appreciated.

I am running the yellow shocks on the rear and the OEM's up front still. I had the yellow shocks on the front with my leveling kit, but they were too stiff holding my enitre front suspension up. It made the truck really bouncy over bumps. I seem to be the only guy on here that has had trouble with the yellow shocks though, maybe I got a bad set. I can tell you one thing, the ride quaility was terrible for the 3,000 miles I had them installed. I drove to several dealerships and they all said it was something in the shocks.

I have the yellow HD's on my truck along with an AS 2" level kit. My stock shocks/struts were junk at 60k when I replaced them. The Bilsteins are a little firmer than the OEM's, but overall the ride is much improved. The truck settles much quicker when going over bumps and feels alot more in control. The difference from the 5100's to the HD's is minimal, with the excpetion of the leveling ability.

I went with the Bilstein HD's front and rear and the truck rides great with a lot more control than with the OEM shock's even with my 2 1/2" leveling kit in the front. The 5100's are a longer travel shock and not quite as stiff as the HD's.
