Transmision Failure P0731-P0732 half solved

I was on the highway and i got off at a exit and came to a stop, when I started to go again my truck would barely respond. I floored it and eventualy it got up to 2k RPMs and would drive normal. A minute down the road the O/D light started flashing on and off and the message center read "transmision failure" it was still barely responding from a start but it'd drive normal in the upper RPMS. I drove it home(only 5 miles away) and the Edge gave me the codes P0731 and P0732 and i just looked this up and they are the codes for incorrect gear ratio 1 and 2(I guess first and second gear)

The truck runs fine now, this happened yesterday but what does it mean? Just a couple sensors loose or something? Although I didnt drive it hard or a lot, its running perfect as of right now.

Mine acted like that when first gear failed, I wonder if a sensor is bad on it...no clunks or thuds?

My Ranger did that right before it gave out all together. Turned out the previous owner loved to dog it.
