That was supposed to be 3000 pounds. And I towed a 2000 pound trailer for years off the bumper of my 94.

Yes it says 500/5000 but I was just saying, it is worth the about $100 to get the "real thing" and know you are safe. It was more of an issue on the ranger forums I was on when I had a ranger because the bumpers were rated for 200/2000 I think. With any trailer and hitting the brakes, the bumper smooshes into the truck. I cannot say the same for the much tougher F-150 but just food for thought.
