I just clicked on that ebay link. Product and company look pretty solid to me. I'm interested in this set up too. It would be nice to not have to put the key in the ignition and hit the start button too. ( I know it's nothing hard to do but not using the key and only the button makes it that much sweeter!)
I can't believe no one has chimed in yet to see if this is something possible on our trucks?

In checking out the company's web sight a little more I found this:
"All vehicles produced in the U.S. since 1969 were mandated by the federal government to be equipped with a locking steering column. In order to operate these cars the key is required to unlock the column (and automatic transmission gear shift lever), when turning the key to the "ON" position. To operate GTStarter I you must first insert the key and turn it to the "ON" position. GTStarter I has two easily programmable starting options
1) start the engine by turning the key to the "START" position OR press the GTStarter I "Engine Start" button, or (2) start the engine using the GTStarter I button only."
no bueno my friends!

OK this maybe it, dam searching all over, (There is no easy bypass for a car that has a mechanical steering wheel lock. In this scenario you have two choices, 1) Use the key to unlock the column or 2) permanently disable the steering wheel lock.) now this make sence, check this out he's tubing it too

I just got off the phone with my big brother, his truck now has a ford remote start and a ford racing push button start. I can't wait to see how it looks and how it works. He installed it where the stupid coin holder is. Looks like another mod for my truck.

***** that's exactly where I wan the button to be. keep on diggin keep me update ok, oh don't tell me that he turn the key to on then push start, that'd be suck
the steering lock would probably need to be disabled and you would need a way to bypass the PATS system in the truck that requires the chip in the key. You could probably do that with a xk04 or a pkall from DEI. they are remote start bypasses for ford. the other choice would be to get a universal bypass that would force you to leave a key inside the truck, not in the ignition.
Here is my setup... No key w/ alarm
