OK... since we got left out... SHOW OFF YOUR FX2's!!
do you have a leveling kit in the front?
What is with all these people saying that they have an FX2 just because they buy some of the OEM parts? If it doesn't say FX2 on the sticker in the window when you buy it, then it's not an FX2.
I'm not gonna lie I was PISSED when I put on the oval overlays. I don't see how they think a flat sticker will go over a convex surface. It creases no matter what you do. Looks good from a distance but if you get up close it looks cheap. I also had to remove the chrome ring around the edge because it was like a sticker on top of the sticker and it creased and started coming off. Hood decals came out good though.
I got my overlays from patriot decals, followed the instructions and mine came out perfect. No bubbles or creases. When i first installed them it didnt look that great until it warmed up. I put them on in about 50 degree weather and i was upset with how they looked, but 2 days later it was about 80 degrees and i went over them with a wet paper towl and worked some bubbles out, and they have been perfect for about 7 months now.
Painted Rims, give that a try
I have a set of 20's and want to give it a try and paint them, to avoid paying a shop $500 to paint them. I have a little corrosion around the weights and minor scratches i like to paint the areas the same as you did pretty much. Did you sand the unpainted areas, then paint black areas, and then clear coat the whole rim? Looking for some tip and pics. Thanks
I painted the rims on my 2002 fx4. I painted the larger silver parts of the rims dark shadow grey and the small silver part red. I only sanded, painted and clear coated the parts of the rim I wanted the colors changed on. I am going to do the same thing with a newer set of f150 wheels to get rid of the tan and go with red or maybe black for my winter wheels.
