got the lights on

ive been lookin at this forum for a while and this is where i got the idea for the tow mirrors. will i got them and i wanted to install lights on them and ive had them done since mid feb and just got around to getting pics. it was fairly simple and about $20 in lights and about 4 hours to do. (the first mirror was 3 hrs till i got it figured out how to take apart). well heres the pics. they are
just running lights, no turn signal.

Tylus is right looks OEM, good work.

Did you look into making them into turn signals at all? Or did you just want them to be running lights?

well... first take your door pannel off. youll need a 5.5, 6, 8, 10 mm sockets, an 11 mm to take the mirror off (its easier off the truck then on) then take teh mirror and tilt the mirror part all the way to the top left hand corner and then take a screw driver w/a large blade and pry in the little notches that r there (becareful with this cause you could break the platic, i found this out when i practiced on my old mirror). do the same to the convex mirror below to. set these aside so they dont fall and break (the new lenses are $45)

next you will need a #10 or 15 torque wrench to remove teh 5 or 6 screws holding the case together. now comes the sickening part.... spread teh case apart. there are 8 molded clips that hold it together and they will Break. but dont worry. the screws hold it togehter after its toghther.

now there is the molded parts that cover the metal frame that the mirror is made out of and there is 2 little notices if you turn it over you will see on the top half of it. pry here and work your way back and that will come off and if your careful it shouldnt break.

hope this helps, i can get some pics of you like to help with this. sorry they arent to clear
