Leveled + rear lift????
hello, i put in a 2.5 leveling kit in my 05 screw. and love the way it sits when empty, but now for the last 4 weeks or so my quad has regularly been in the box and i cant stand the bulldog look (sagged rear end) so here's my question should i get a block, add a leaf, or air lift 2000k kit. I'll probably be hauling my quad most week ends this summer (found a nice spot to ride with friends outta town) i dont want to loose my ride when empty and i like the idea of the extra weight capacity so i dont think a block is right for me.
so what do you recommend (brands etc)and why, thanks alot Tom.

they make the best reguarded leveling kit for our trucks...and they are a shop in Idaho with a solid reputation and sales. I have their 2.5" up front and the 3" block out back. Nothing but good happiness on my part

I'm in the same boat, although I have the 2" level. It actually sits about 1/2" lower in the back now. I saw where they sell 1/4" shims (superlift I think), so I may put a couple of those in to level it, then get the hellwig load pro.

It mounts on top of the spring pack and doens't affect the ride. It only kicks in once you apply a load. The other option I am considering a 1" block and the 1.5" AAL. I've heard from some that think the AAL inproves the ride and some that don't...more of a personal preference I guess.
Either way, I'm not sure there is a way to ensure a level ride under a load, if you don't have some rake unloaded, unless you go with air bags. And I'm just not gonna spend that much.

i have the 2.5 AS up front and the AS 3" block in rear, which replaced the stock 2" . so giving it 1" of lift in rear... i LOVE it..!! to me it looks perfect...

I have AS 2.5"m kit up front and Firestone Ride-Rite airbags in the rear. I usually run 15-20psi, which stiffens the ride up just a bit, but not nearly as much as a AAL, yet also gives me 3/4-1" of rake. Also with my Yamaha Kodiak in the bed (and the same 15-20psi in the bags) the truck still has alittle bit of rake.
Before I got my bags I was thinking about getting blocks for the rearend, but I went with the bags for a couple reasons. 1. I bought them from a member here for only $20 more than what the block kit costs. 2. Every once in a while I end up hauling sometimes 3000+lbs in the bed so the bags work GREAT for those heavy loads.

Thanks for all the reply's i still have no clue which way to go, if i go with the aal from autosprings it's about 220 Canadian. if i go with procomp or skyjacker aal from my local supplier it's 250ish and a airlift kit is 300.

Atom when do they mess up? just when your trying to fill up or air down? So if i go with the bags will i have issues in winter when it dips down to -40c

one time we were headed to go sledding the damn compressor froze up. it was wet out and i think something froze up, maybe the lines, honestly don't know ...not something you wanna worry about when your hooking on a 30' 6 place hauler....but otherwise it was nice, just used it more in the winter than the summer

so does your truck still have some rake?
or is it leveled?

About freezing....
I drive a big truck, and on these there are air dryers as standard equipment. Moisture from the air will easily get into these sytems and it doesn't take much for them to freeze without the dryer.
Also, there is air line anti-freeze which we will use occasionally on our trailers in the cold weather - works great.
On a small system like the air bags for our F-150's, there isn't an easy way to get air line anti-freeze into the system. Without a compressor setup like ATOM has, I guess you could remove the schrader (sp?) valve, and somehow make a small funnel of sorts to pour some anti-freeze into the lines. Or, even with a compressor setup, you could install a valve anywhere in the line where you could add the anti-freeze. You would only have to do this a couple times per winter depending on how many times you air up/air down the system.
Myself, I would only be airing up/down during the summer when I pull my landscape trailer - system wouldn't be touched in the winter so I don't see having any problems myself.

I haven't had my bags or lines freeze up at all over the winter and we had -40F for almost a week. Although every fall I take the core out of the valve stem, then pump the bags up and deflate them fully a few times just to try and get any water out of the lines/bags that may be there.
