Today I realized that the top cover for my console shifter is broke. One of the teeth apparently broke off and now it flops around. Problem is....dealer wants $70.00 for it. Woah!!! I asked if it was dipped in titanium and platinum. I called Tasca and the guy gave me a part number OL3Z7213BA, but I can't locate it on any Ford part sites. His price was $40.00, but did not have it in stock. Anywhere else online that I can get this from?

I am interested on where to get a replacement shifter ***, and how do you replace it? The "chrome" on top is peeling in places, is it possible just to replace it with some more of that fake stuff? Thanks for any input!

 

My tabs popped off as well so I took the chrome plastic top **** off (it was practically off anyway) and put a small blob of the putty stuff you mix its two part and put it in the center of the underside and pushed it back in place and its perfect. That putty dries hard like steel. There is no way I'm paying $40 - $70 for that little plastic chrome piece!

 

Same thing happened to me. The hot glue gun worked great.!!!
