Always torque your wheels to 150.

I always use a torque wrench, and don't ever have a problem with warped rotors.

Spec for all 14mm F150 lugs (since 2000) is 150 ft lbs. It is even listed in the owners manual.

You should torque your wheels to the right spec.

Yes people....its 150 lbs...not 85, not 100, not 120, not as tight as your impact goes. Do you really think the people at Ford just threw some B.S. number out there and that some number you pulled out of your azz is better?

No offence to anyone, but Jesus, the people who came up with that number probably know a little more about the trucks than any of us. Whoever came up with the number probably has a damn good reason for it.

I can't believe how many people are going less then recommend 150. Yeah they might not ever fall off even at 120 but damn there is a reason they are to be at 150 like Bartak1 said.

Also unless you spend some good money on a torque wrench(couple hundred) you don't have a good one. A harbor freight special is not a quality torque wrench.
Yes, that is correct!

I've always used torque wrenches on all lugnuts and applications where proper bolt/nut torque is VERY important.

Talking

When ever I put my wheels on (saleen or stock) I torque them down and put the wrench in the back seat for a few days, then every day or so when I get home, I re torque them a few times...people get in my truck and ask what am I working on

Love my craftsman digitorques...

BTW-Problem with tire shops is no one really cares, the guy making $8 an hour to mount tires really doesn't care, the boss or owner might but how often do you get them working on your ride, I hate cheesy tires shops and real professional tire shops are rarer than white diamonds...at least in my neck of the woods.

Hell I live in the sticks and every tire shop around has good equipment, I just had my 39.5x18-15 boggers mounted up on 12" rims, All 4 for $23.00.

Oh yeah, I torque to 175LBS......**** on the factory
