Anybody figure out how to mount an Ipod on a 2008
I recently upgraded my HU so I don't have the problem anymore, but I agree it was a dumb move putting it there.
I have the flow-through console, but what I did originally was run the wire through everything and into my center compartment. I'll do a quick sketch later so you know what I'm talking about. It's really easy to pop all this stuff up and run the wire through.

You could disconnect the top port and run it to a different location and put a regular tray on it. I never had the top port, but cannot stand the location of it, so I ran mine next to the cig lighter
Here is an idea of how I ran mine...you can still see the wire at the input and at the bottom of the ash tray, but otherwise it was completely hidden. It tied me over until I got the new HU.
i too have gotten a diff deck. ford had the right idea, but should have went a litte further with the idea IMO. i wonder if you can undo the connection at the tray and run in that way so that it is invisble.
you can always cut the wires and solder a new end on...its only 2 wires and a ground

but i have the pioneer d3 , man i love that thing.
i too agree about the tray input , it was a good idea , but it seems kinda ugly with the ipod wire running in the middle of everything.
i like Mblouir's idea for a quick fix , or like Atom said , see if there is a way to mount that little guy some where hidden.
