$250? that is not right. It literally takes 5 minutes to do.

Open the lid, pop off the cover with a flat head screwdriver, take off the trim around the shifter, and look for a small plug at the rear of the shifter. twist out, swap bulb....

buy the bulb from anywhere but that dealership.

x2. You can do it in less than 5 minutes.

I installed a blue LED bulb there, shaved the green paint off the gear indicator plastic piece and sharpie markered the orange indicator tab red. Now it lights up bright blue with a red indicator light for my "in" gear.

$3.00 mod and 20 minutes to have blue LED light in the console.

I can take some. It was super easy.

The light comes from the illumination of the big block of plastic. It has a printed green layer of plastic on the top. The only thing that defines the numbers is built into the chrome housing, which comes off during disassembly. So you have to take a razor blade and "shave" the green off the block, leaving a satin white color on the top of the plastic. Then when the bulb is replaced with "whatever color you want" it now shines that color. I bought my bulbs at www.superbrightleds.com. I think it is a 194 wedge base bulb.

I also swapped out my reading lights and dome lights with white LEDs as well.
