help with shift reset button

I pushed my white shift lock button on my floor shifter (under the plastic cover). Now the shifter moves without any power. My question is how do you set the white button back to the lock position? There is a page in the owners manual about this, but does not explain how to place the button back to the lock position.

Not quite sure how to answer your question... never really drove an automatic F150 a lot, as mine is manual.

But, you might want to try some needle nose pliers and see if you can wiggle it back in to the lock position. You might need to toy with the shifter a little bit.

I'm pretty sure it is spring loaded, but it might have gotten gunked up with sticky soda or something that spilled in the console.

There are plenty on here with automatics, I'm sure someone else will chime in.
