I dont think chrome bumpers are paintable so youd have to get XL or STX bumpers and painted them to match.

You can't paint over the chrome but media/sand blasting does wonders. Then you have a clean slate to start with.

I had chrome on mine when i bought it... IMO they look like ***... and chrome bumpers are paintable... just have to sandblast them first to remove the plating... thats what i did. Then spray them with an epoxy sealer and hit it with the base/cc. Painted mine in my garage, turned out flawless, I didnt even need to wetsand and buff

Yours would definitely look better color matched to the bottom of the truck

I'm trying to find a used set so I can customize them before they get painted. I'd like to add backup and corner lights on the rear bumper and make custom holes for my own lights in the front.

Could I use a wire brush wheel to remove the chrome?

It'll take some elbow grease, but that's what I would do. Saves you a few bucks from having to take them somewhere to get blasted.

Youre not gonna be able to remove the plating with a wire brush. I brought mine to a monument place that does tombstones. They run the abrasive at like 150 psi, no way a wire brush in a cordless drill will touch it.

What would be a good price to get both sand blasted and power coated?
