You don't need a fuel line tool to remove the filter from these blue clips. Or I should say, in the 4 filter changes I've done so far on my 07, I've not needed a tool on the rear of the filter. Interesting.
Is it the same tool that was used for the older Fords? I have the tool I used for my 94 f150. It slides on the filter and then underneath the clip that is attached to the fuel line.
It should be. When I picked up mine all I needed to know was the line size.

This is true, but some of us seem to think that the tab needs to come out completely and end up breaking the clip. If the same disconnect tool is used on both ends of the filter this problem does not happen.
