Just brush it off and don't get it fixed. Find out if it's actually against the law to have blacked out tails first.

I would do the same, i doubt having blacked out tail lights are illegal, you can still see them when your running lights are on right? how about your break lights as well??

They have to be seen from a certain distance, depending on the state. I would leave them also.

Here in Fl i want to say the light must be visible at 500 feet, but don't quote me.

Also, I have a set of tails that you could have for 20 plus the ride.

it isnt only the light being visible but also you cannot see a reflector with blacked out tailights also it is an obstruction of light.me personally i say fug that crap and just pay the ticket or find someone that can pull tickets

wow, alot of people saying "F" the law

What about the person behind you who can't see your brake-lights in the rain or fog because they are tinted to darkly. These laws didn't just randomly get pulled out of someone's rear end. They exist for a reason...stupid as you may think it is

kinda sad when a cop gets called a "Douche Bag" for merely doing his job.

Yea F** the drugs, gangs and burglars...Lets just go after the automotive scene and get the county a measly $75.. In the last month I have gotten behind two cars with no taillights or brake lights..If i can manage to see there stopping Im pretty sure the person behind me can see my lights just fine. Still think the cop was being an @ss!!

Get a set of Harley taillamps.

Edit:
6L3Z-13404-AA (Right side Harley tail light)
6L3Z-13405-AA (Left side Harley tail light)

Tasca has them for $44. a piece.

Here's some info I found on the law.

http://forums.evolutionm.net/lancer-...s-illegal.html

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/insid...l-florida.html

forum member comment: "I live in Florida and I have my tails tinted for over 6 months. I pass, and drive by cops every day and they don't bother me. MOST cops have better things to do like pick their noses or jack off in the patrol cars than pull us over because of tail light tint.....now if you're speeding on the other hand and get pulled over....they might as well make their commission bigger by charging you for more sh#t :-p"
