Im having a problem. Any ideas. Won't Hold Alignment.
So I have an 05 F150 with the 8" Rize and 37s and the tires are wearing out bad on the inside. Ive had it alignment done twice and its still getn worst. I get the tires rotated every 3000miles so any ideas?
Its either a toe out problem or a camber problem. Are the tops of the tires tilted excessively inwards? If they are you may be at the end of your adjustments. If the tires arent tilted in then it is a toe out problem. You need to have them adjust the the toe in a little extra. The default specs that they are adjusting to are for the OEM wheels and tires. Have them adjust the toe in to the extremely of the OEM recommended range instead of in the middle of the range. If that doesnt work try some more until you get it right. Also check your tire pressure. Low tire pressure will make the outer edges of the tires wear faster than the middle.
my truck wouldnt align with new tires and a leveling kit. I tried 3 different places and they all used machines. The 4th time, i found an old guy that did it by hand and havent had any problems yet.
Don't take this the wrong way, but how do you know it "won't hold alignment?" If you're looking at wear on the tires, remember one thing. Once a tire wears unevenly - for whatever reason - it will continue to wear like that for the rest of its life. This will be true even if you correct the problem that caused the uneven wear. Make sense?
Sorry it shouldnt have said that it didnt hold alignment. But the tires are tilted in a little when looking at it from the front. And my tie rods were replaced not too long ago when i noticed that the tires were begining to get worn from the inside and they couldnt do the alignment without replacing them. ill see if i can post some pictures up later

just out of curiosity, are you able to get enough toe in adjustment? reason i ask is because sometimes these trucks when lifted need to have about 1/4 inch removed from the outer end of the inner tie rod. i had to do this with mine too.... the inner tie rod was bottoming out on the outer tie rod, and i wasnt getting enough adjustment.
