Bedshake...How much is too much?

ok another post on the infamous bedshake question. How much movement is the normal ammount on your guys trucks? Ive learned to ignore it over the past few weeks [newer truck] but today I was behind another Supercrew and it seemed his bed wasnt as shaky as mine. Its a little hard to judge a measurement on how much it moves but it is noticible in the mirrors and i can even see movement of the wheel well. I have an appointment w ford next week and ill ask em to check the bed mounts. Any inputs? How bad are yours? Thanks!

to answer your question, as long as it doesn't touch the cab.

the bed isn't actually shaking. you are seeing the cab flexing on the rubber body isolators. the other truck doesn't look that bad since you are experiencing your own vibrations/bouncing at the same time.

but yeah, as long as nothing is hitting, I wouldn't be worried about it.

the bed actually does shake, but I agree you wont see it if you are behind another one, its a perspective thing

It does kind of freak you out when you first notice it in your mirrors. I've never have heard of the 2004-2008 bed shake hurting anything though. You can't really see it on other trucks when your behind them just your own through the mirrors..

My dad has an FX2 Screw with the 5.5' bed and it's seems a lot less noticable than my Supercab with the 6.5' bed. I dunno.

Thats what I kind of suspected. Did you even try to take it to ford to install the dampener or did you just learn to ignore it. Its just wierd you know? looks cheap

I have a 5.5' bed and it shakes also. I can feel the vibration from it at 55 mph but quit's once I get to 60. I have learned to live with it. It only does it on rough road's.

As long as it isn't flying around and slamming it to old ladies, then it's alright, lol.

Bed shake is normal to a certain point. Ask Toyota about it.

Actually the whole frame is shaking. That's why you see the bed shake. Without the insulators, as Tylus mentioned, the entire cab would shake as much as the bed.

It has to do with the rear suspension. Bouncey bouncey.

If it's just the left side it's most likely a tire with a flat spot. This will cause vibration on that side only. I had this problem with the original POS Badyear tires. The right side of the bed would flop around.
